Across the joists lay a. Replace any missing or rotted siding above the step flashing on dormers. The water entry point may not always the same as where the water drips. Cut away the old caulk from around the vent pipe.

Find the water entry point. Quick fix from inside contain dripping water. Use a pocketknife to scrape rough edges and sharp points from upper end of plastic vent pipe. Apply a thick bead of lap seal caulk around the seam.

Replace these if you re able and add a little pipe sealant to the seams when you screw a new section of pipe into place. Use the knife blade to scrape the pipe clean and smooth. The immediate thing to do is to contain dripping water from the leak. Fix a leaky roof vent pipe with a oatey rubber gasket.

Slide the vent parts apart and removed the damaged section. Recaulk the corner flashing if any areas have hardened caulk. Dig out any cracked or dry caulking that isn t properly sealing adjoining surfaces and replace with silicone caulk.
